One Tree Hill, the Last Goodbye

One Tree Hill said goodbye with its best episode ever. I spent most of the episode in tears.

We got to see one more concert at Trick, one more performance from Haley and Chris Keller and we also got to see a live performance of the One Tree Hill song, “I Don’t Want to Be” by Gavin Degraw.

Mouth gave a tribute to Jimmy Edwards and Keith Scott. Quinn and Clay got married and adopted their son. When Logan said, “mom, are you coming?” to Quinn, I just broke down in tears. This episode couldn’t get more perfect.

We got to see old places like the school hall way and Peyton’s room, even if it was just stage sets. Peyton couldn’t be there for us to say goodbye to, but she was there in spirit. We even got to see Bevin one last time.

Mouth ended up with a beautiful girl and his own sports program, like we always knew he would.

We even got to see Jamie beat Nathan’s high score. We got to see our favorite characters all grown up living life the way they always dreamed of,  Jamie on the basketball team, Karen’s Café and Baker Man right next to each other and Millicent and Mouth expecting a baby. By the looks of it Bevin and Skills even got back together.

Julian’s  dreams came true and he created his own TV series, where the characters can relive their lives every week.

We got to go down memory lane through Trick’s 10th Anniversary. Nathan even found the guitar Chris sold to get Haley’s masters back in season three.

I will miss One Tree Hill so much. It has been a big part of my life for so long. These characters have helped me through so many tough times and I thank them for that. I don’t know what I’m going to do without them.

Every single moment of this episode was perfect. We got to remember nine years of One Tree Hill and say goodbye to all the things we love about One Tree Hill.

So many things are coming together at the close of One Tree Hill. Brooke is getting another company, Mouth is getting his own Sports show, Julian is getting his very own TV series and Clay and Quinn are getting married. A perfect end to a perfect show, but it’s not over quite yet. We have one more episode left.

This season is going by so fast. It feels like just yesterday the season premiere aired and flooded us with all these images of what was going to happen throughout the season.

It’s been an incredible season. We’ve cried, we’ve been on the edge of our seats and we’ve laughed. I will be sad to see it all end next week.

This episode was no exception. Brooke basically had all her dreams come true. She has a company again, her parents are back together and they are a true family. We all knew what her parents were like when she was a teenage, but to hear her words in her dairy really brought me back to the first season. When she was a rebellious teenager. Brooke has come along way since then. I just wish she didn’t have to walk in on her parents having sex to find out they were back together. That was so funny though.

Another great One Tree Hill moment was when Clay proposed to Quinn. The fact that Logan was apart of it and even gave Clay his ring to give to Quinn was amazing.

I thought it was perfect to have the Annual Tree Hill Burning Boat Festival near the end of the series. So much has happened and there is so much I’m sure the characters wish they could forget. Brooke said goodbye to her old self, Chuck said goodbye to his childhood things, Chase said goodbye to being discharged from the Air Force and Haley being Haley got to host the event.

I’m going to soak up all these great moments while I can. Next week we will have to say goodbye to a show that has been with us for nine years.

You know the writers of One Tree Hill are amazing when they can bring tears to your eyes for the death of Dan Scott. Dan has almost died tons of times. He’s always been able to cheat death, this time he was not so lucky. The episode went down memory lane of every bad thing Dan has ever done and all the ways he almost died.

Dan has always been the character I love to hate. Things were always more interesting when he was in the mix. Over the last few years he has changed. He’s became almost a descent man, he’s Dan Scott he was never going to become a good man. We hated him for taking a way a character we all loved, Keith. We may not remember  him for taking away the beloved character though. We will remember him for one of the best villains on TV. Without Dan Scott, One Tree Hill would have never been the same.

By the looks of it most of Tree Hill has forgiven Dan, except for Lucas, he was never going to forgive him. Did the conversation between Dan and Nathan actually happen? Or was that all in Dan’s head? I know the scenery was in his head, but were the words in his head? I hope Nathan got his chance to say goodbye. He had every right to hate Dan, but that’s no way to feel when losing your father.

We finally know exactly what happened in that hallway all those year ago. I always wondered what was going through Dan’s head when he shot Keith. I’m so happy they brought Keith back for even just tiny bit. Now Dan and Keith can be together like they should have been when they were alive.

It was worth the wait for seeing Haley and Nathan’s reunion. I was upset last week that we didn’t get to see it, but it was well worth the wait.

Only two more episodes left. It’s hard to believe it’s almost over.

Nathan is finally safe, but do we really have to wait for Haley and Nathan’s reunion till next week? Haley’s been a wreck for weeks, couldn’t we have at least seen the reunion.

I was at the edge of me seat the whole episode, between Xavier stalking and attaching Brooke and Dan rescuing Nathan.

We all knew Xavier was going to strike eventually, but I did not expect that Tara would come to the rescue though. I was hoping that she would. Xavier is so stupid. He can’t blame Brooke for being in prison. He’s the one that attacked and kidnapped her and Sam. He put himself in prison and if he just left Brooke alone he probably would stay out of prison, but I do feel better that he’s going back now.

Dan, Chris Keller and Julian aren’t exactly what you would call a good team, but they seemed to make it work. I’m very happy that Chris was brought back for the final season. He always makes me laugh. I never thought he would be good for anything else, but he did play his part in rescuing Nathan. I’m so glad Julian didn’t go home when Dan told him to. If he had gone home Nathan would probably have ended up dead. If Julian and Nathan were not close before, I think this will bring them closer together.

Only three more episodes left and Dan’s life hangs in the balance. At least he’s redeemed himself and might even get Nathan’s forgiveness before he dies.

My 10 Favorite One Tree Hill Episodes

There are so many great episodes over the years of One Tree Hill. Season 9 is coming to end and so is the series. I’ve tried to take seasons one through eight and figure out which ones are my all time favorites. I’ve made a list of my ten favorite episodes and added clips and promos to look back over the last 9 wonderful years we’ve spent with the cast of One Tree Hill. Lets begin with opening credits:

1. How a Resurrection Really Feels
Season 3 episode 9

I love this episode for a few reasons. This is the episode that Haley and Nathan get back together, Lucas confronts Deb about attempting to murder Dan and I love all the scenes with Nathan and Chris Keller. I love how the music adds to each scene in OTH episodes, this episode does that so well. This is my most watched episode.

2. Some You Give Away
Season 4 episode 9

This episode is great because the Ravens win the state championships and Lucas and Peyton finally get together. Some of the best episodes of OTH are when Nathan and Lucas are playing basketball. This one is the best of all of those. Not only because they win the state championships, but also because we’re on the edge of our seats wondering what will happen to Nathan when he wins the game. Like all great episodes we are left with a huge cliff hanger, with Haley and Luke’s lives hanging in the balance.

3. Learning to Fall
Season 7 episode 20

This episode is where Haley sets her piano on fire. I love this scene because it shows how much pain she is in after losing her mother. In most episodes Haley is the strong one always helping everyone else through tough times. In a few episodes of season 7 we get to see a darker side to Haley. I love Bethany Joy Galeotti as an actress and I love to see her portraying a different side of Haley.

4. What’s in the Ground Belongs to You
Season
7 episode 21

Haley’s depression continues. This is one of my favorite episodes because it continues on from episode 20. There is some fun to this episode as well. Quinn and Jamie watch the Goonies and then go on their very own treasure hunt. It was a nice breather from all the intense stuff happening in Tree Hill over the last few episodes.

5. The Birth and Death of a Day
Season 4 episode 20

The truth about Dan is finally out for everyone to know. The scene where Nathan confronts Dan is amazing. Dan has been feeling the guilt almost since the moment he shot Keith, but the fact that he doesn’t even try to lie his way out of this one, shows how his grief has grown. Between the truth about Dan coming out, graduation,  Karen’s life in the balance and at the very end Jamie is on the way, its a very bitter sweet episode. Everything about OTH as we know it was about to change. We only got one more episode before everything changed for good.  The show just hasn’t been the same since they were in high school. I’ve never missed an episode since, but I still miss the good old days. Not that there hasn’t been great episodes since season 4, the dynamic of the show just changed.

6. Remember Me as a Time of Day
Season
6 episode 24

This was the episode where Peyton and Lucas said goodbye to Tree Hill. It was an episode where dreams came true. Peyton got the daughter she never thought she’d have, Peyton and Lucas got to live happily ever after and Nathan got into the NBA. How can you not love this episode?

7. I Slept with Someone in Fallout Boy and All I Got Was this Stupid Song Written About Me
Season 3 episode 19

Lucas finally comes clean about his heart condition and Peyton goes to see Jake. This is back when I believed Peyton and Jake should be together, so I loved in the end where she meets up with him.

8. Forever and Almost Always
Season 6 episode 23

Peyton and Lucas finally get married. It’s the wedding we had been waiting for since at least season 5, but probably more like season 4. Either way Lucas and Peyton finally have made it. Till the end of the episode where  they are threatened to be ripped apart again . Thankfully everyone was ok, but I’m sure I was not the only one who was freaking out.

9.The Space in Between
Season 8 episode 3

When Clay was in between life and death it was really scary. We had come to love Clay and now we might lose him. Nathan even tried to save Clay’s life, even with the knowledge he would have to quit basketball. In the end Clay was fine and we could all breathe again.

10. I forgot to remember to forget
season 5 episode 5

Season 5 was my least favorite season of the series. It was a transition season with jumping ahead four years. I really enjoyed this episode though. It answered a lot of questions, what happened with Lucas and Peyton, Luke’s book and Brooke’s fashion empire. This is my favorite episode in the whole of season 5.

I could not breathe on the lead up to uncovering the body. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be Nathan. I thought if he’s going to die it’s a little soon in the season to kill him off. Luckily the body was not Nathan, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t still die. Dan is hot on Nathan’s trail but the gangsters are getting really close to killing Nathan.

Chase I know you want to protect Chuck, but from a jail cell is no way to protect him. You could have called the police, or stopped his father; you didn’t have to beat him! Chuck may never forgive you. Chase has been making some questionable decisions as of late. What happened to the Clean Teen we met in Season 4? I never would have thought Chase would have ended up like this. I know his intentions for beating Chuck’s father were genuine, but it just wasn’t the best way to handle things. Chris Keller tried to warn him. If only he could have listened to Chis he wouldn’t be sitting in the back of a police car.

I still can’t believe they let Xavier out. It’s obvious he hasn’t paid enough for what he did. I don’t care if he says he’s doing nothing, hanging around the café is not right. No one will look badly on Brooke and Julian for continuously throwing him out. I just worry for what Xavier plans on doing to Brooke.

So Clay has a son? That’s a pretty big thing to block out. I’m not surprised he’s been having blackouts. Now that he’s remembered this vital piece of information, what is he going to do with it? He can’t just leave Logan. No matter what Quinn says this does change things. Clay was so in love with Sarah. Logan represents a part of Sarah. It took a long time for Clay to move on, or so he thought he moved on. Until he really moves on from Sarah and accepts his responsibility for Logan, Quinn and Clay cannot move forward together.

First of all what the hell was that? Lucas was hardly on screen and he’s already gone!?! It’s bad enough we don’t get to see Peyton and Sawyer but Lucas is in and out so quickly. Lucas is a big part of what makes One Tree Hill. To say he’s coming back and then to have him just be in one episode is horrible. I am extremely disappointed. Is anyone else as disappointed as I am? And lets talk about that hair. What is Chad Michael Murray thinking? It’s not a good look for him, but he’s still somehow cute.

I almost thought Nathan was going to get away. I did not think for a second that the cop was on the gangster’s side. All hopes of Nathan getting out of this alive are pretty much gone. And with the preview for next week, is it Nathan’s body? Maybe it’s not. Dan is hot on the trail of Nathan but is it too late? Haley has a really bad feeling about this and so do I. I hope next week’s episodes lives up to expectations whether or not Nathan is still alive. This week was just a total let down. The whole excitement was over Lucas coming back and then his role was just really small.

I can’t believe they let the bastard out. Now Brooke has to be careful. I heard there was going to be a death in the season. All signs have pointed towards that death being Nathan but now signs might be pointing towards Brooke. Can’t we just have Dan die? I mean I like Dan’s character and he has certainly done a lot to redeem himself and he continues to, but out of all the characters he would be the least upsetting. No offence Dan.

So Chase is getting mind numbingly drunk a lot lately. What exactly happened between him, Chris Keller and two strippers? Do I even want to know? At least with Chuck he’s still the good guy he’s always been. I wish he didn’t have to go back to the air force. The scene with Chase in the back of a police car is is suddenly becoming clear. I can totally see him flipping out on Chuck’s dad; not exactly the right way to go if that’s what actually happens, but understandable.

A whole week to wait and see if Nathan dies, is it going to drive anyone else crazy?  I’m not sure how I feel about the potential outcome of next week’s episode yet. I am very scared to find out who is under the sheet. I think I will be feeling much like Haley in that moment.

We are now half way through the season, what else is there to come? How is One Tree Hill going to wrap everything up?

Saying Goodbye to One Tree Hill

jespaa1 | photobucket.com

jespaa1 | photobucket.com

So I’ve been watching some old episodes of One Tree Hill. As One Tree Hill is coming to end I thought I’d relive some of my favorite episodes. There are a lot of things that I miss from earlier seasons. For one Lucas and Peyton. The show just hasn’t been the same since they left. I also don’t think the show has really been the same since they left Tree Hill High. Of course as the characters grow up they’re going to change so the dynamic of the show is going to change. Few shows have lasted long after the characters leave high school. Dawson’s Creek lasted two, Gilmore Girls lasted four, Gossip Girl is on to three and Beverly Hills 90210 not only took the characters through college but also three years after college.  So five years after high school is not too shabby for One Tree Hill.

One Tree Hill has done what none of these shows have done. They skipped right over college and went to after college. In most shows they bring the characters together at one university, but One Tree Hill went a more realistic route and sent them in different directions. Most times I wouldn’t think they would all find each other again, but it’s just a show after all. But it’s a show that a generation has followed. Just like any of the other shows that I have mentioned.

One Tree Hill always reminded me of a mixture of Dawson’s Creek and Beverly Hills 90210. Even with the different qualities of these shows that One Tree Hill possesses there are a lot of qualities that makes One Tree Hill stand out. Lucas always narrated these profound words at the beginning and the end of episodes. The words connected what was going on in the episode to my life. I’m not saying that everything in all the episodes I related to, but there are plenty of stories that I did relate too. One Tree Hill helped me through a lot of things. I will always hold a place in my heart for One Tree Hill.

We’ve watched the characters grow up so much. Brooke turned into an incredibly woman. I think the biggest transformation besides Brooke, would be Nathan. He was on the path of becoming his father when we first met him and now he is a great father and he still got to live his dream. It’s nice to go back and see where it all began. A lot of things have happened over the last nine seasons. We have all shared the ups and downs with Brooke, Haley, Nathan, Peyton, Lucas, Skills, Mouth and now Chace, Quinn, Clay, Millicent, Julian and Jamie.  They will all be missed when the final episode airs.

As One Tree Hill is coming to end, let’s take some time to remember our favorite episodes and seasons. For me Season three and four are my favorites. I loved Haley and Nathan finding their way back to each other. I loved Brooke and Lucas getting another chance, but I also loved Lucas and Peyton finally finding each other. So much happened in these two seasons. I will always remember these seasons and all the others. So join me in reminiscing about One Tree Hill before we say goodbye.

The question still remains, is Nathan the dead body in the morgue we saw at the beginning of the season? Mouth has found the connection to his disappearance and Dan is digging deeper. Can they find him?

While Nathan is praying for some miracle, life is continuing in Tree Hill. Haley and Brooke are not having luck with running a café. Both of them are more creative than they are business like though. Now that Tree Hill sees Tara for who she really is maybe Karen’s Café will have more business. But Chase sleeping with Chris Keller’s girlfriend, that’s so unlike Chase. I mean ok it’s Chris Keller’s girlfriend, but still, Chase is a better person than that. It is nice to see the return of Chris Keller. It has certainly been a while. He always livens things up.

Julian and Dan seem like an unlikely alliance, but they both have the same goal of finding Nathan. Plus Julian really wants to redeem himself. He made a mistake. Parents make mistakes all the time. I’m not saying it wasn’t one of the more serious mistakes, but it was a mistake nonetheless. If we were to all beat ourselves up, and in this case quite literally, we would get nowhere in life. Julian has punished himself enough and its time for him to move on.

Next week Lucas Scott returns!! It’s about time. I think most fans were expecting his return much sooner. Finally he is returning to Tree Hill. What about Peyton though? Chris Keller has returned, Dan has always been floating in and out, so why not bring Peyton back too. It would be nice to get the whole gang back together before we say our final goodbye.

There are still quite a few more episodes left, not as many as we may have liked, but there’s a lot that can happen in these final episodes. I’m nervous to see how it all turns out.
