Grey’s Anatomy Season 8 Finale

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

Lexie is dead and Mark is not looking so good. What a way to end the season. Meredith, Christina, Derek, Arizona and Mark are all lost in the woods and no one knows where they are.

I’m so mad at Owen. If he just got his messages in the morning, he would have known something was wrong. It’s been hours now and who knows how much time Mark has or even Arizona for that matter. She was coughing up blood.

I never expected Lexie to die at all. I really thought that her and Mark would end up back together. Lexie took too long to tell him and then Mark took too long to respond. We will never get to see them together again.

Meredith and Christina seem to be ok. They are injured, but they don’t have life threatening injuries. It’s Mark, Arizona and Derek who are the worst off. We have to wait all summer to see if they will survive.

Owen is the only person who even knows they are missing and he only finds out at the very end of the episode.

Richard will have to reschedule his resident’s dinner for when Christina and Meredith can actually make it. I think being in a plane crash is a good excuse. April was rambling on about losing her virginity and failing the boards. She should be happy she’s alive and not praying for her life lost in the woods. It’s not really a surprise she failed the boards. She always buckles under pressure. I understand she wanted to stay a virgin till marriage, but losing it to her best friend is not a bad way to lose it. If only we could all be so lucky. Who knows what will happen to April next season. Does this mean she’s leaving the show?

Teddy is leaving Seattle Grace. They’ve gone through a lot of heart surgeons. I really liked Teddy she will be missed.

After finding out that the six main cast members were sticking around, the rumor of a death on the season finale didn’t seem so bad. When we knew who was staying, but three of the doctors on the plane are not main cast members. Lexie is gone and Mark and Arizona are not looking too well. I think it’s safe to say Derek will be fine, since he signed a new two-year contract. What about Mark and Arizona? I really like both of their characters. I don’t want to see either of them go. It’s bad enough we lost Lexie.

I’m happy that Miranda is settling down again. It’s about time she found a good man she wanted to marry. It just sucks it has to be a long distance relationship. At least Seattle to Los Angeles is a short plane ride away.

We will all be waiting for season nine as patiently as we can. I hope the rest of the doctors make it through.

Grey’s Anatomy Original Cast Sign Two-Year Contracts

All the original cast of Grey’s Anatomy are coming back for season nine.

According to TV Guide, the original cast have signed two-year contracts to stay with the show. This includes: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr.

Dempsey had previously told TV Guide that he would be leaving Grey’s after season eight to pursue a movie career, but he will be sticking around for a little longer.

TV Guide reports that Dempsey announced his new contract on Carson Daly’s Los Angeles radio show and that he was happy that the negotiations were behind him.

“It’s just so nice to have a job and it continues on is a wonderful thing, so, very grateful that it’s happening,” Dempsey said to Daly. “[I’m] very happy … to move forward and looking forward to another couple of years of the show.”

After previously saying he was ready to leave Grey’s, he now says he is open to continuing if the show goes past ten seasons.

“We’ll see how we feel at the end of two years, but that’s been a long run,” he told Daly. “Hopefully with these next two years we can infuse some new life into the show. I know there are a lot of interesting things coming up on the last two episodes that I think will be quite moving for people.”

The season finale will air this Thursday and according to TV Guide one of the doctors will die. With negotiations going on this year, that doctor could have been just about any of them, but now that we know the original cast is returning next season that should comfort some fans.

I hate cliffhangers like these. I guess at least we don’t have to wait all summer to find out who lives or dies, just a week. Everything that’s going on in these doctor’s lives will become mute with a tragedy like this.  As I was watching them in the small plane I was thinking I wouldn’t like to go in one of them because of the higher chance of a crash. Then the next thing I know the plane has crashed. Rumor is that there’s supposed to be a death in the season finale. Which is next week. It’s just a rumor right?

So from the looks of things all these residents are leaving, but the season isn’t over yet. They could all change their minds. Fingers crossed that they do.

I hope Meredith didn’t choose to leave just because Derek wants to. If she wants to stay she should fight for that. No matter who stays or leaves I don’t think Christina and Meredith’s relationship will ever be the same. Christina doesn’t consider Meredith her person anymore. Even know they are both married they should still have a close friend they can come to with anything. I don’t believe that when you get married you should cut those ties.

So Alex out did all the other residents. He’s definitely  found his element in pediatrics. You know he’s a damn good doctor when he can miss the first session of the boards and still pass. Alex has worked really hard for this. He should revel in his success a little before making his decision. Which needs to be Seattle Grace, but hopefully he will come to that conclusion.

I always felt that Christina was most likely to leave, considering the situation with her and Owen. I feel like she’s thinking about staying though. The fact that Seattle Grace was put back in the mix and she had sex with Owen again, she may be thinking of sticking around. There might still be hope yet.

Bailey never has good luck with men. I really thought she was doing better this time around. I mean she even got a proposal. Now that Ben has an opportunity of a life time, I don’t think this couple will last much longer. It’s not fair to Bailey, but Ben shouldn’t give up this opportunity either.

I feel bad for Arizona. She had to watch her brother die and now she has to watch her oldest friend die. Well she might not have to watch him die depending on the outcome of the crash. I really hope she’s ok. I hope they are all going to be ok.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

This was an intense episode for the residents at Seattle Grace. It almost made it more nerve wrecking knowing that someone was going to fail. You automatically think Alex, since he was late, but he impressed through the rest of the test. Then you think April, because of her major meltdown. Then you think Christina, because she was just too confident and fought with her proctor. Then you go back to thinking Alex again.

I really thought that April was going to fail. The others had meltdowns too, but none as bad as hers. She just couldn’t handle the pressure and that was part of what they were being tested on. I think Meredith was the best under pressure. She had the stomach flu and was answering all those horrible questions and she made it through. Granted if she was that sick when dealing with patients they would send her home.

This episode really pushed everyone to their limits. Most of them made it through pretty well. I was really happy that Alex passed. I was devastated last week at the thought of him not making it to the boards. I know Alex may or may not come back next season, but I still wanted him to pass.

Jackson’s mom can rest easy now knowing that she didn’t cause her son to fail the boards. Jackson can also rest easy. Having the Avery name must be tough with all that pressure on you. He had to pass the boards. There was no way around it.

I think Callie’s method really works. Meredith was able to get through the boards even being as sick as she was, because she knew the answers. She then passed on her wisdom to the others. I think it helped all of them, expect April, but April failed because of herself. There was nothing anyone could do to help her. She was freaking out more than anyone else even before the exam had begun. She just can’t handle pressure, where as the others can.

I loved that Mark was so nervous for Jackson. In Mark’s eyes Jackson wasn’t an Avery protégé he was a Mark Sloan protégé. Mark should be really pleased to hear that Jackson passed.

I’m glad Lexie finally told Mark how she feels. I just hope it wasn’t too late.

I feel bad for Arizona. She lost her brother, now she has to see her oldest friend die. It’s not fair. The guy is stupid. If you have cancer and you have a friend who is a doctor, you call them. You don’t just wait till it’s too late and then call them.

Who did you think was going to fail?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

Meredith has the stomach flu, April lost her virginity on the eve of the boards, Jackson’s mom had sex with Richard and his lucky pencil got snapped in two, Christina is dealing with marital problems and Alex didn’t even show up for the test. With all the obstacles against them it’s a wonder how any of them will pass the test.

I think Christina has the best chance of passing the test. She’s calmer than the rest of the residents, even with her personal problems. She’s had time to process about her and Owen. April hasn’t had time to process losing her virginity, but why would you make such a life-changing decision on the night before a huge exam. April is definitely smart and organized to the max, but she lacks in confidence. If she doesn’t pass it will be because she psyched herself out.

Meredith on the other hand is more than ready for the boards. I just hope the stomach flu doesn’t cause her any problems during the exam.

I think Jackson can get past his lucky pencil being broken. He works with Mark everyday. Mark is the reason Jackson and Lexie broke up and he deals with that. Plus all the other things you have to deal with when working side by side with Mark. If Mark holds you in high regard then you know you’re a good doctor.

I can’t believe Alex didn’t even show up. What was he thinking when he got on that plane back to Seattle? He has become an amazing doctor. Why is he going to throw that all away? He’s worked so hard for this. All the other residents have other stuff going on too, but they all made it to the boards.

It’s nice to see Richard getting his life back again. He can’t mourn over Adel forever. She doesn’t remember who he is. She’s not intentionally hurting him. I don’t know if Jackson’s mother was the best one to move on with though. They do make a good fit, but Jackson is one of his residents. Every time Catherine comes around she seems to embarrass her son in one-way or another. Mothers are good like that.

Lexie needs to tell Mark how she feels before she loses him forever. She could have him back if she just told him. That opportunity is not going to be there forever.

Who do you think will pass the boards? Who do you think won’t?

Grey’s Anatomy Renewed for Season 9, Original Cast May Leave

Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for a ninth season.

Five of the main cast members’ contracts are up and there’s no guarantee all of them will return for season nine.

According to TV Guide, Patrick Dempsey is leaving Grey’s after season eight to pursue a movie career.

“It’s gonna be my last,” Dempsey said to TV Guide. “I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done.”

Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh and Justin Chamber’s contracts are also up at the end of the season.

“It might be the last hurrah for a lot of them; you never know,” Shonda Rhimes, executive producer, told TV Line. “Everybody has an individual choice to make and I get that.”

TV Guide also reports that Rhimes told TV Line that season eight would be the last for the original cast.

“I was invited for eight years — that was my contract — and no one has asked me for a day more,” Ellen Pompeo told TV Guide. “I know Shonda Rhimes has said the show will continue, but I wouldn’t presume that they want to continue with me. You don’t get dressed for the party if you don’t have an invitation.”

Pompeo expresses to TV Guide that she would be very happy to continue on Grey’s Anatomy, if she was asked to do so.

“I would never turn up my nose at Grey’s. As long as the stories are honest and truthful… and I feel there is material for us to be passionate about, it still beats a 9-to-5 job any day,” Pompeo said. “If I hear from the fans that they want us to keep going, then I would continue because we owe them everything.”

TV Guide reports that Sandra Oh, who plays Meredith’s best friends Christina, is likely to leave the show after season eight.

Pompeo had previously said to TV Guide that if Dempsey and Oh leave she would stay and continue Meredith’s story.

“It might be an interesting story for Meredith to have to deal with losing Cristina,” Pompeo said.

The fate of Justin Chambers, who plays Alex, is also undecided.  “I don’t know if I’ll go farther,” he told TV Line back in August 2011. “I don’t know if the show will go farther. When we get to that point, we’ll go from there.

No word yet if Chandra Wilson will be staying or leaving for season nine.

Rhimes told TV Guide that she has been trying to figure out scenarios for Dempsey leaving and Pompeo staying.

“I would be lying if I didn’t say that I lie awake at night wondering what would happen,” she said. “And I have some ideas. Do I love them? I don’t know yet. I’d prefer to think of them as Armageddon scenarios. There are no easy answers.”

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

I mentioned last week that not all of the cast has signed on for next season, this episode showed the scary truth that some of our favorite characters might leave.

Christina seems pretty set on leaving Seattle Grace, but can you blame her. Her husband cheated and her husband happens to be the chief. Unless something happens between now and the season finale on May 17, it looks like Christina will be leaving.

Another doctor of Seattle Grace that looks like she’s going to make an exit is Meredith. She told Boston that they are her top choice. If Meredith and Christina leave I think a lot of people will stop watching. They’ve been main characters since day one. Plus the show is called Grey’s Anatomy. You can’t have the show without the character the show is named after. Nothing has been set in stone yet, but the storyline is sure leading to Christina and Meredith’s exits.

I think Jackson will end up sticking around at Seattle Grace. He likes working with Mark because Mark doesn’t treat him like an Avery. All his other options only want him because he’s an Avery. April will probably stick around too. No one else will probably hire her because she’s annoyingly organized. I think Alex will be sticking around as well. He’s wanted the fellowship at Seattle Grace for a long time and  Arizona has been trying to make sure he stays.

We will have to wait and see who will be sticking around, but the storyline is sure pointing at who will be staying and who will go. The next few episodes will be nerve wrecking waiting to see who will be around next season.

This episode was all about moving on. Richard had to move on from Adel because she found someone new. Christina looks like she’s going to move on from Owen. The person to move on the most was Holly, the girl who had lived with her kidnaper since she was six. This episode made me feel like it was preparing us for characters to move on.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

Meredith is ready for her boards while the others trail far behind. You would have thought that Christina would be the one that was ahead of the rest, but she’s been plagued with personal problems. Meredith is now passing on her wisdom to help the others.

It was funny seeing Mark as boss for a day. I wondered why Owen would leave Mark in charge and that’s because he didn’t. Mark just took it upon himself to take charge. He didn’t do too badly, but he took the job way too seriously.

Teddy is finally moving on, well not in the dating department, but at least with her life. Ladies night was a great idea. I just wish the ladies would have put more energy into it. Arizona was the only one that wanted to go through with plans for Teddy. At least Arizona and Callie have each other and Bailey has someone. They should be doing everything they can to make Teddy feel better. Not going off with their significant others and leaving her alone.

Christina and Owen were finally working through things. I completely understand where Christina was coming from, wanting to know how the cheating occurred. No matter how much it’s going to hurt, it’s better to know than be in the dark. I think it’s good that Owen moved out. Christina needs to concentrate on her boards. If Owen and her don’t work out she’s going to want to have her career to fall back on.

Not all of the cast of Grey’s Anatomy has signed on for season 9. The question remains who will be sticking around? There’s so many characters on this show that taking out a character or two might not make too much of a difference, but there are some central characters that the show can’t do without. Those characters may be different for everyone. We will have to wait and see who will sign on for season 9.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

Grey’s Anatomy is back in full form, with laughs, drama and heartache.

I was extremely surprised that Christina did not tell Meredith about Owen cheating. That’s something you would normally tell your person. I thought it was weird that Meredith was talking to Owen in the beginning of the episode and then it all became clear when we found out she didn’t know. I think Christina needs to tell Meredith or Meredith needs to tell Christina that she knows. I loved that Christina threw the oatmeal all over Owen, but she needs to talk through her anger. Owen needs to stop saying it was just sex. He needs to figure out how to make up for his actions and earn Christina’s trust back.

It was funny when Callie was freaking out over Arizona’s exes. Callie has a baby to one of her exes and Arizona has been great about raising a baby with Mark and Callie, as Mark pointed out, even if it was in a conceited way. Now that Callie and Arizona are married, their exes are irrelevant. It’s way too late in the relationship to be harping on the past. I guess at least they get make-up sex out of it.

Bailey seems to find out everything about everyone. I think it’s because she’s small and just sneaks up behind people without them noticing. Plus she really knows her interns, so she always knows what’s going on.

Lexie needs to tell Mark how she feels. The fact that Derek told Lexie to tell Mark should show she still has a chance with Mark. Or did she not say anything because she’s not sure if it’s jealousy or if she really loves him? I think she really loves him and needs to tell him.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

becksgirl_8 | photobucket.com

I never expected that Owen was cheating on Christina. He just didn’t seem like the kind of man to do that to his wife, no matter what state the relationship was in. I think it’s time for them to end it. Owen is just going to keep hurting Christina and Christina is not going to change her mind about children. There is nothing wrong with Christina not wanting kids, but Owen needs to accept that or move on. It’s hard to say whether it’s worse speculating about the cheating or knowing about the cheating. Christina won’t be going crazy now, but that doesn’t change the pain that she’s in.

What was Derek thinking having Meredith come back to neuro. Married couples should not work with each other. It brings too much stress on the relationship. I thought they had learned their lesson before when it nearly tore them apart. He also shouldn’t have left Lexie and Meredith alone during surgery. This was Meredith’s first day back in neuro. They should have put the training wheels back on. I feel worse for Lexie. She made a mistake, she only human. She will learn from this and be a better doctor for it. Derek doesn’t need to come down on her so hard.

Could Alex be more blind? Or wait he could be. It’s been obvious for a while that Morgan has a thing for him. He definitely doesn’t help matters. Just because the jerk boyfriend left doesn’t mean he has to be the knight in shinning armor. Nothing good can come from this relationship. Alex needs to find a normal girl, not that Morgan isn’t normal, but she’s in a relationship with a sick preemie. How much more messy can you get?
