Saying Goodbye to Gossip Girl

gossip_girl_s3What am I going to miss most about Gossip Girl? Where do I begin. There’s so much to love and miss about the show.

Dan successfully became one of the Upper East Siders, Blair and Chuck finally tied the knot after all the drama, Serena finally acepted herself, Nate became successful and Jack and Georgina were welcomed back into the circle.

For me, Serena and Dan are my favorite characters. Serena grew so much over the series and she also fell very far.

Gossip Girl Final Season, The Last Goodbye

gossip-girl-gossip-girl-2024112-1024-768The story behind Gossip Girl is that it was a love story between Dan and Serena.

Dan Humphrey created Gossip Girl so he could write himself into the Upper East Side so he could get a chance at being with Serena. Does it get much better than that?

Chuck and Blair may have seemed like the love story in the show, but all this time it was Dan and Serena.

In new episodes Dan says he wants to be one of them, but as this episode shows, he is one of them.

Thank you Gossip Girl writers for putting Dan and Serena back on the path to each other.  There’s still five more episodes, so a lot could still get in the way, but the future looks bright for Dan and Serena.

The future doesn’t look so bright for Chuck and Blair. Dan’s right, she left Dan, but she’s ended up alone. This whole idea of waiting to be together till they have achieved their goals is ridiculous. Who knows how long it will take for them to achieve their goals. They are so young and after they achieve these goals there will be more goals. They should share their success with each other. How long will Blair be willing to wait around?

Nate has finally seen the real Sage and it’s about time. I guess he’s been so wrapped up in the Spectator that he didn’t see what she was doing.

I’m really worried for Nate. I know he wants the Spectator to be a success, but faking numbers is not the way to do it. He’s too young to be going down that path. He should have learned from his father’s mistakes.

You would think that after Rufus found out that Ivy lied to him about her money that he would realize who she is.

First Ivy was saying how the money isolated her and then the next thing she says is that  they can spend it. If she didn’t want to spend it before why all of a sudden is it ok? I thought Rufus was smarter than this.

Chuck should not be teaming up with Ivy. She can’t be trusted. If he wants to bring down his father he has to be smart about it. Bart has been playing this game a lot longer.

Blair and Serena’s friendship just keeps getting worse. Is there any come back from this?

We’re half way through the final season and there’s still so much happening. I’m still wondering how the writers will tie it all about with only five more episodes to go.

All I can say is eww. How can Serena get past that her boyfriend slept with her mom, granted it was years ago, but still.

It was weird enough that Nate and Serena dated and now he’s dating Serena’s boyfriend’s daughter.

It was funny that Serena had to make her list, just like her mom did. She should have learned from her mother that it wasn’t a very good idea.

I hope she really doesn’t think that she will keep her sex tape a secret from Steven. She should know by now that everything comes out on the Upper East Side, especially when Georgina is lurking around.

There may be hope for Dan yet. He was really seeming like a completely different person.  I know he’s writing a piece about everyone, but Nate, really? What has he done wrong? Well until now, but I’ll get back to that.

Maybe Georgina’s plan of interviewing society girls was a good idea, just not in the way she was planning. Something happened during those interviews and it seems like Dan has come back down to earth a little.

Though I don’t know if running to Blair was the right idea. She’s clearly in love with Chuck. If he’s really missing their friendship that’s fine. I liked their friendship, but when Dan looked at Blair there seemed to be more than friendship in that stare.

On to Nate now. Really Nate? You’re going to go down your father’s path? I believe that Nate can successfully run the Spectator, but this is not the way to do it. He’s going down a dark path.

Bart never seemed like the greatest guy, but what reason does have to be hurting Nate? Because he’s his son’s best friend? Bart made a mistake and it’s time for him to pay for it, not get other people to make mistakes too.

Chuck is hot on the trail to the truth and Blair is neglecting her duties. This was not the plan when they chose to wait to be together.

Blair deserves success and she’s worked so hard to get it. Why is she given up when she’s on the brink of it?

I started with an eww factor and I’m going to end with one too, Rufus and Ivy. Ivy tried to sleep with Dan. Rufus can’t say anything about Dan changing when he’s not exactly acting like himself. And if only he knew that Ivy was playing him. I just don’t know what the end game is yet.

There is so much happening on the Upper East Side. Where do I begin?

Sage is more trouble than Blair and Serena were in high school, combined.

It’s one thing that she wants to ruin her dads relationship, but why ruin Blair’s show in the process. How many girls would kill to be the face of Waldorf Designs. At least when Blair was scheming in high school she was thinking of her future.

I know it’s childish, but Sage needs to be taught a lesson. Blair and Serena may have met their match though.

Did Nate hear about what Sage did to Blair’s show? He can’t of, if he’s sleeping with her.

Nate has stayed the most straight and narrow through the whole series. Let’s face it. No one is innocent on this show, but Nate comes the closest.

But if he continues his relationship with Sage after finding out what she did to Blair’s show, then I will have lost my faith in Nate.

Sage shouldn’t be battling Serena. If it wasn’t for Serena, she wouldn’t even be allowed to still see Nate.

I don’t like Ivy, and Rufus should not trust her, but she’s right about Dan.

Dan has fallen really far. I would never have guessed his first piece was going to be about his own dad. That is very cold.

What’s even worse is that he sold the rest of his pieces to Vanity Fair. If Dan really believed that friends and business don’t mix then he shouldn’t have let Nate publish the story in the first place.

He’s determined to leave himself friendless. My hopes of Serena and Dan getting back together are getting slimmer and slimmer with each passing episode.

Serena doesn’t want a scheming Upper East Sider, she wants a real man. The man that Dan use to be. Before Serena, Blair and the rest of the Upper East Side got to him.

Chuck is getting one step closer to discovering Bart’s secret and Blair and Chuck are getting one step closer to being together. I still don’t understand why they can’t just be together now.

We’re getting closer and closer to the final episode and I have no idea where it will all end.

The writers of Gossip Girl are ending the series in GG style.

As much as Blair has grown up, she has stayed the same. She’s still using her her minions and still scheming to get her way. I would have hoped that Blair would have grown up by now, but from a Gossip Girl perspective, I think it’s good for the storyline. We can’t have a final season where the minions are not involved.

She is growing though. After she failed in her scheme she went back to the drawing board and started to do things the profesional way. Her mother would be proud. While I’m happy she’s growing up, it’s nice to see classic Blair right before we say good-bye to Gossip Girl.

Serena is much different this season. As we finished last season we thought we were going to see the old Serena in the final season, but this is a brand new Serena.

Things are going a little too well with her and Steven. I still want her to end up with Dan. In all series there is a couple or couples that are meant to end up together, and I believe Dan and Serena are one of them. I also believe that Chuck and Blair should end up together.

It seems like Blair and Chuck ending up together would be a safe bet, but that’s too predictable. I want Gossip Girl to have a good ending, but I don’t want to predict it.

If Chuck can take down his father, that would be an epic ending. Chuck’s always lived in his fathers shadow and Bart has manipulated everyone. Chuck started out that way, but he’s become a much better man than his father. I hope he succeeds in his mission.

Nellie is wrong. Dan has made it into the inner circle of the Upper East Side. He’s constantly in on schemes with them, he’s datad Blair and Serena and he’s gotten close with Nate. How much more in can you get?

I think Dan should take a minute and think about what he’s going before publishing his story. I said this last week as well, and Nate was also concerned. Dan may be mad, but these are still his friends

The final season is off to a running start. With only eight more episodes left, I keep wondering how the writers will wrap up all these story lines.

Serena didn’t stay lost for long. It doesn’t matter what they do to each other, they all come through in the end.

It was funny that Serena picked Sabrina for her alias. Of all the names she could pick, why that one?

There will only be 10 episodes in this final season. There was so many story lines that started at the end of last season and more stories were added in the first episode. How are they going to wrap everything up in just 10 episodes?

What is Bart’s big secret? It has to be really big if he’s willing to pay that much money to silence someone.

I think Dan was right about Blair and Chuck. I know they have businesses to run, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be with each other too. Life is too short. If they’re scared of committing that’s one thing, but don’t make excuses. Will Chuck and Blair end up together by the end of the series?

I always wanted Dan and Serena to end up together, but they don’t seem like they will ever get back together at this point. Who is this Steven guy? He better be good if the writers are going to make her end up with him? She always leads back to Dan and I’m hoping that will be the case once again. But Dan is on a mission to destroy all of them. He’s made some really good friends here, even know it might not seem like they’re always good friends, I think he should rethink destroying them all.

Nate sacrificed saving the Spectator to save Serena, who didn’t need or want to be saved. Gossip Girl is always one step ahead of them. I know it was a genius idea to save the Spectator, but I think unmasking Gossip Girl is much more personal. Gossip Girl has hurt them all over the years and she has to be stopped. Who do you think Gossip Girl will be? Is anyone else hoping it’s Kristen Bell?

I don’t even know what to say about Rufus and Ivy. You would think Ivy was born on the Upper East Side with how conniving she is.

Gossip Girl is at its best when the cast is working together for a common goal. This episode brought that together so well. There was lot’s of laughs and intrigue for the season ahead.

This episode has made me really excited, but also sad, for the last season.

So many things change and so many things stay the same.

Bart is back and claims he’s changed, but he’s the exact person he was when he left. Good fathers would encourage their sons to follow their heart, not falsely encourage them as a test. Rufus was right, Bart did manipulate Lily in staying married to him. I think he probably manipulated Chuck to get him come out of hiding as well. He’s getting his old life back and doesn’t care about the damages left behind.

Jack Bass may not be the villain we always believed him to be. He made sure Chuck got the blood transfusion he needed, he’s partnering with Chuck and he even called Blair for Chuck. Maybe we have misjudged Jack.

Serena has fallen so far back. Serena has always been my favorite character, but I am rethinking my stance. This season she’s had a tough time, but it’s how you come through those tough times that counts. She has not come through it with her best foot forward. First she became the acting Gossip Girl and truly started to become Gossip Girl. She may not have meant to leak Blair’s diary, but the fact that she put the diary on her computer is awful. She was in the wrong, why destroy Blair when Blair had every reason to be mad at her?

I think we all knew that Blair was going to choose Chuck. It was unenviable, but Serena had no right in trying to manipulate the situation. She got Dan drunk and convinced him that Blair was choosing Chuck. That turned out to be true in the end, but she shouldn’t have taped her and Dan having sex. She was more than prepared to send the video into Gossip Girl. How did she expect Dan to be with her after that? Serena has now fallen all the way back to her old ways. I feel like we are back to where the show began. Serena is going down a dangerous path and she has lost all of her friends, so there is no one left to rescue her.

Dan is about to expose all of the Upper East Side secrets. He must be furious. Blair chose Chuck, Serena betrayed him and Lily betrayed Rufus. You know he is desperate when he goes to Georgina for help. I think the Upper East Side has destroyed Dan the most.

Lola’s morals stay mostly intact. She has gone to Ivy to do the dirty work. It’s just a whole messy situation. Carol should not have lied to Lola or Lily, but Lily pressed charges for the wrong reasons. If she was going to press charges, she should have done it when she first found out. Lily and Carol are both in the wrong here.

Nate may have just laid eyes on the real Gossip Girl. Does this mean Gossip Girl’s identity will be revealed in the final season? We’ve pondered the question of who’s Gossip Girl for five years now. She was almost revealed in season three.

There will only be 11 episodes in the final season of Gossip Girl. Will Chuck and Blair finally be together? Will Serena ever truly change her ways? Will Ivy and Lola take down Lily? Will Lily see through Bart and realize she made a mistake? Will Dan go through with his tell all novel? Will Nate uncover the identity of Gossip Girl?
